I attended the Dundalk Stadium’s Ladies Day on Wednesday 12th July, in slightly different fashion this year, as the Louth Rose. The weather always promises to be fabulous for Dundalk Stadium’s Ladies Day and this year was no different. As part of my involvement as the Louth Rose I had the pleasure of helping to present the Best Dressed lady with her prizes.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable day, filled with immense and enviable style. The Head Judge was the ever fabulous Lisa’s Lust List, who had help from her fellow judges, Rosie Kirk Makeup Artist, Marshes Shopping Centre, who were sponsors of the day, newest personal stylist Rebecca McKinny and NI Gossip Guy when facing the difficult task of narrowing down the hundreds of fashionistas down to just 10 finalists. My lovely Rose sister Orlaigh the Down Rose even made the final cut, she had a glorious cape and showstopping floral headpiece on.
The winning outfit was a personal favourite of mine and a hot trend at the minute, a dress and trouser combo by the talented Shauna Fay worn by Donna Mackin Millinery & Accessories , who made her own hat. The prize was worth an astonishing €4,000 and included a tip of a lifetime to New York.
Dundalk Stadium showed me wonderful hospitality throughout the day and treated me to a gorgeous dinner — they really knew how to keep me happy, just feed me! If you have yet to visit Dundalk Stadium on Ladies Day it is definitely one for the calendar next year, gives you loads of time to get planning those all important outfits.
As it was a dual race day, later that evening I stayed on to present a number of winning grehounds and onwers their trophies. As an animal obsessive this was one of the highlights for me. The greyhounds were so friendly and gentle, I was close to taking a few home with me.
I want to say a special thank you to Emma Meehan Sales and Marketing Manager at Dundalk Stadium for hosting me and letting me get involved in their wonderful day, to Sheba Dundalk for sponsoring me my beautiful dress, that cinched me in in all the right places but also allowed me to could eat all I wanted (Isn’t that the perfect dress?) and last but most certainty not least to Jem Heads Wedding Fascinators, Hats & Accessories Ireland for sponsoring me my elegant fascinator that tied to whole look together.
